Chairman
Mr. Foyston is the Chairman of Navis and an Investment Committee member.
Mr. Foyston co-founded Navis in 1998 with Messrs. Bloy and Muse where he is a member of the Investment Committee and manages a variety of firm wide leadership roles. He sits on the board and/or executive committee of several portfolio companies in Thailand, India, Hong Kong and Malaysia where he led portfolio investments across industries including agribusiness, light manufacturing, media and food services. Mr. Foyston was substantially responsible for the conception of Navis’ public equity business and continues to be involved in Investment Committee and internal development activities there.
Prior to co-founding Navis, Mr. Foyston was a senior executive with The Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Foyston worked in BCG’s Boston, Tokyo and Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur offices and was responsible for building and leading BCG’s Asia (ex Japan) practice. Mr. Foyston has extensive experience across Asia and in a variety of industries with a focus on consumer goods, agribusiness, and financial services.
Mr. Foyston has been a resident in Asia since 1987, having been raised primarily in Canada. He graduated from Queen’s University (Canada) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has an MBA from Harvard Business School, as well as the designation of Canadian Chartered Accountant (CA).
